A traffic violation is not probable/legal cause to search your vehicle, unless they see guns, AEGs, drugs, gun parts, explosives, etc. and/or containers labeled as as containing the above in Plain View, meaning no asking to open trunks, glove compartments, center consoles, bags, etc.
Any traffic violation not listed below if you're issued an LTO Temporary Operating Permit (TOP) can be contested in the LTO's Traffic Adjudication Service (TAS) office.
You can present your case to have the unofficial violation(s) and corresponding fine(s) invalidated from your list of violations. Had this done in Davao City's main LTO Office in 1997.
